Изучить в возрастном аспекте взаимосвязь сердечно-лодыжечного сосудистого индекса (CAVI) и частоты выявления каротидных атеросклеротических бляшек (АСБ) в общей популяции.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. Обследовано 1 380 человек репрезентативной выборки 25–64 лет («ЭССЕ-РФ»), проведены кардиологический скрининг, объемная сфигмография, каротидная ультрасонография. Для анализа взаимосвязей использовали корреляционный, линейный и логистический регрессионный анализ.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. Шансы выявления АСБ зависели от CAVI у мужчин и женщин (отношение шансов 2,51 и 1,83; p &lt; 0,001). После поправки на возраст, систолическое артериальное давление и индекс массы тела корреляция наблюдалась только у мужчин (отношение шансов 1,30, p = 0,017). Ассоциация была максимальной в возрасте 35–44 лет и не обнаружена у лиц старше 55 лет. Значения CAVI ≥ 6,9 ассоциированы с 7-кратным повышением шансов выявления АСБ у мужчин в возрасте 35–44 лет. Независимо от пола более высокие значения CAVI наблюдались при наличии АСБ (оба p &lt; 0,001). После поправок ассоциация выявлена только у мужчин (p = 0,007). Зависимость CAVI от АСБ с возрастом значимо не менялась.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. Выявлена независимая корреляция между CAVI и каротидными АСБ в мужской неорганизованной популяции. При наличии АСБ более высокие значения CAVI были определены в любом возрасте. Шансы выявления АСБ в наибольшей степени зависели от CAVI в относительно молодом (35–44 лет) и почти не были связаны со старшим возрастом. Полученные данные свидетельствуют о возможном вкладе сосудистой жесткости в развитие раннего атеросклероза.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Highlights</title><p>Highlights </p></sec><sec><title> </title><p> </p></sec><sec><title>Aim</title><p>Aim. To study age-specific relationship between the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) and the presence of carotid atherosclerotic plaques (CAP) in the general population.</p></sec><sec><title>Methods</title><p>Methods. The study included 1 380 people from representative sample of general population (participants of the ESSE-RF study), aged 25–64 years, who underwent cardiac screening, volumetric sphygmography, and carotid ultrasonography. Correlation, linear and logistic regression analyzes were used to analyze relationships.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. The odds of detecting CAP depended significantly on CAVI in men and women: OR = 2.51 and 1.83 (both p &lt; 0.001). After adjustment for age, systolic blood pressure and body mass index, the correlation was present in men only: OR = 1.30 (p = 0.017). The association was greatest at the age of 35–44 years, declined thereafter and was not observed after 55 years. CAVI​​ ≥ 6.9 was associated with a 7-fold increase in the odds of detecting CAP in men aged 35–44 years. Regardless of gender, CAVI values were high in case of ​CAP presence (both p &lt; 0.001). After adjustments, the association remained only in men (p = 0.007). Dependence of CAVI on CAP presence did not vary significantly with age.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. Study results revealed an independent correlation between CAVI and carotid plaques in the male population. CAP and high CAVI were present at any age. The chances of detecting CAP depended mostly on CAVI at a relatively young age (35–44 years). At an older age detection of CAP did not depend on CAVI as much.
